Leela Romeo, a certified artisan, born in Mallorca in 1980, is a nomadic maker whose life has been marked by intrepid travel and constant artisanal exploration of diverse cultures.

 At the early age of 17, she embarked on a journey that took her to live in places as varied as England, India, Thailand, Costa Rica, Brazil, Ibiza, Granada, Mexico and New York.

She studied sewing, photography, ceramics and finally textile art, in which she has been steadily immersed since 2019 in a purely self-taught internal creative process.

"It's beautiful to see how tradition and avant-garde connect," says the artist, who seeks to support the use of raw materials and local fibers, betting on proximity products and sustainable production in her native Mallorca.

A project focused on textile art, design and craftsmanship, inspired by the Mediterranean character of the creator.
She works in large format interventions in collaboration with architectural and interior design projects, transforming spaces through her timeless designs that stand out for the warmth of raw materials.

In the last year of her career, she has been creating a collection in wool art called Native Wool, which with a focus on sustainability, Mallorca's textile tradition becomes a fundamental source of inspiration for Desanuda.

She uses this rich heritage as a basis for innovation and contemporary creation.

Leela Romeo chose experimentation, practice, motivation and initiative to facilitate the development of something genuine that would define her, free from external influences.
