Art Prize 2022 Finalists

Jeannine Cook
Using a sterling silver wire in a stylus, marks are made on a smooth drawing surface which has been coated with a tinted ground. Marks are permanent, extremely difficult to alter. Silver will slowly tarnish to a warm golden brown through oxidation. Pilke paper, on which one can draw in silver, was added to evoke the colours in the luminous resin dripping like a vast candle from the pine tree near Joan Miro's studio on Son Boter.
