Art Prize 2023 Finalists

It has been fantastic to see the entries coming in for this years prize. 100 artists, almost 200 works across Sculpture, Photography, Painting, Digital and Printing. The theme again was 'Mallorca' and what that means to each artist, the array of interpretations was interesting to see. I don't usually comment on the entries, as I don't sit on the judging panel, but I have to admit to a favourite, which didn't get to the final,(see the finalists below) so I can show you

I just think 'Pablo' by Sabine Bierau, with the background of Mallorcan fabric is such a happy painting, and I regularly meet donkeys when I'm out walking with my dog Rudi, so it really says Mallorca to me.

Thank you to everyone who entered, and congratulations to the artists who are in the final.

Everyone is very welcome to come along to Can Prunera, Soller on the big day, to see the work and meet the artists. We will be announcing the winner at 14.00, and last year's winner Miguel Angel Bernat will be there to present the trophy.

The Museum will be free to enter on that day, so there is also the opportunity to see their collection of art and antiques.

I will of course be there, so look forward to seeing you!
