Countdown to the Exhibition

The first Artists of Mallorca exhibition is now only a week away, running from Friday 24 - Sunday 26 June, and the hard work is almost over. It feels like a very long time ago that I sent out a message asking the artists on the site if they would like to be a part of it, and I am looking forward to seeing all the work live for the first time.

One of the reasons I started ArtistsofMallorca.com was to get to meet other artists on the island, and to see the work that was being created on this hugely inspirational island. It will be great to meet some of the people who I have been 'talking to' remotely over the past couple of years.

Getting out and promoting the exhibition has also been fun, and I have been surprised by how interested people seem to be in it, and genuinely happy to help. Seeing leaflets prominently placed in hotels, restaurants and even artists studio windows is wonderful!

The Tunel comes with some complications, particularly due to the humidity, and some artists who wanted to be involved couldn't as their work is mainly on paper, and would be completely destroyed if it was there for any length of time. It is, however, an amazing space, which the artworks will transform completely.

A huge 'thank you' to all of the artists who are taking part, and fingers crossed for a successful launch on Friday 24 June. I will be there throughout, so please say hello if you get the chance to come along.
