Hope Spring has been fun and you are ready for a fabulous Summer!

ART PRIZE 2024

The Art Prize is now underway, you have until July 17 to enter.

The prize is open to all artists working on the island, the jury will look at all entries and choose the finalists . The theme is 'Mallorca', which you are free to interpret in any way. Use the description to explain the connection to the island if it may not be obvious.

Finalists will show their work in a 2 week exhibition in the Museu de Soller, running until the final on 17 August. The winner will chosen by the jury during the exhibition and announced at the ceremony on the evening of the 17th. The chosen artist will receive a prize of the Artists of Mallorca trophy and a gift of 1000€.

TUNEL DE L'ART 2024

The annual exhibition in the Tunel de l'Art in Port de Soller takes place from 28 - 30 June. The artists taking part are:

MUSEU DE SOLLER JULY EXHIBITION 12 - 27 JULY

It will be an interesting mix of different styles. I'm aiming to show a series of paintings I'm currently working on called Lost Perfection:

I got the idea from when I was given a rose that had no fragrance, no colour and didn't open up! Roses are my favourite flower, part of the reason is their glorious fragrance, and it seemed to me that this shop-bought rose had lost the essence of being a rose - no colour, no fragrance, no soul - all because someone had decided to 'improve' on the original.

Really enjoying painting them, and working through the ideas.

Inauguration for the group exhibition will be on the 12th of July at 8pm.

August is all about the Art Prize, then in September there is an exciting new project in the Port de Soller - I'll tell you more soon.
